How to Handle a Travel Service Problem
Most travel problems are solved fastest by the right person, with the right information, asked clearly. That sounds obvious, but it's easy to forget mid-trip.
Whether it's a missing transfer, a hotel room that isn't as booked or an unexpected fee, the process is broadly similar.
1. Identify the provider
Who actually sold or delivers the service? It's the company you have a contract with that has to fix it. For package bookings, that's often the travel agent or tour operator.

2. Raise it on the spot
Many issues are easier to fix immediately. Speak calmly to staff, explain what was booked and what's happening. Ask what they can offer.
3. Document
- Take photos.
- Keep receipts.
- Note names, times and what was said.
- Save confirmation emails.

4. Follow up in writing
If it isn't resolved, send a written complaint with a summary, evidence and your request. Keep it short and factual.
5. Escalate
If you don't get a reasonable response, use the provider's formal complaints process, then consumer protection or dispute resolution services where available.
