Understanding Airport Passenger Services
Airports offer more than shops and gates. Many of the most useful services are easy to miss unless you know they exist.
Passenger services are usually run by the airport operator, though some are provided by airlines or independent companies. The airport website normally has a terminal map with everything marked, which is worth a look before you travel.
Information desks
The most underrated service in the building. Staff can tell you where your gate is, how long the walk takes, where to find a quiet area or which transport option is best. They can also help with lost property questions and contact other services on your behalf.

Assistance services
Help for passengers with reduced mobility or other needs is often coordinated by the airport. Look for assistance points, usually marked with a symbol, at entrances, car parks and transport stops. It's best to book in advance through your airline.

Lost property
Items left in the terminal usually go to the airport lost property office. Items left on the aircraft are handled by the airline. Knowing the difference saves a lot of phone calls.
